Dead Poets' Society (1979) Movie Review

                             Seize the Day

The film "Dead Poets' Society" really affected me a lot most especially my perspective in life. It made me realize that I should be the best of whatever I am and not what others want me to be and that people will only find happiness if they do what they really want, because that's the only time that a person would be able to put his/her heart on what he/she does.

It changed the way I look at life; that I should not hide my beliefs and interests, continue my life and seize the day. The film also showed mr that the people around us just like the students of Welton Academy can help us maybe not to be the best but to become a better individual and that everyone of us has been given the time, resources, friends and family that can help us survive and attain each other's goals. The film is one of the most memorable and touching movies that I've seen in my life.

I believe that if everyone would be able to see the film and absorb its thoughts, then maybe everyone will learn how to live happily amidst trials and challenges and how to face trials together.

Here is a line from the film that would surely ring on your mind:
"To quote from Whitman, 'O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?' Answer. That you are here — that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"
                     -John Keating (Robin Williams)
